other fillers and no synthetic materials or chemical dyes. The
duvets / comforters include Corner Ties and are hand sewn in 6" squares preventing internal
fiber shifting that could cause cold spots. The outer cover
(case) is made from fine cotton. Our duvets / comforters are
packaged in a reusable, natural cotton drawstring bag.
Our
Alpaca duvet / comforters are all handmade and available in crib, twin,
double, queen and king sizes and fit easily into standard duvet covers.
Alpaca duvets / comforters are lighter and warmer than heavier
Wool or Down duvets / comforters.
Alpaca's semi-hollow fiber
provides four (4) times the warmth and is lighter weight than Down or
Wool filled Duvets / Comforters. Alpaca is the perfect choice for
a far superior duvet / comforter, throw, blanket or scarves compared to traditional wool items that can feel rough to the
touch.
Alpacas originate from the high altitudes of the Andes
where they can withstand both severe cold and summer heat because its
fleece is semi-hollow providing an insulating air barrier to the
varying temperatures. Much in the same way, our Alpaca duvets /
comforters adjust to your body temperature changes during sleep or the
seasons.
Alpaca fiber is
one of the world's finest animal fibers and prized by clothiers and
fashion designers worldwide. Alpacas develop a single coat which
lacks "guard hairs", that is found on wool and other animals.
Wool has guard hairs (wool itch factor) which are coarser than
the soft undercoat which it is designed to protect. Alpaca's
single coat is extremely soft which can be worn next to the skin
without irritation. Alpaca fibers are semi-hollow; giving Alpaca
fiber added insulating value over wool and other fibers. Alpaca's
semi-hollow fiber provides a user with more heat retention in cold and
cooling dynamics during hot seasons.
